Wedding Welcome Bags for Out-of-Town Guests

Wedding Welcome Bags for Out-of-Town Guests

While browsing Pinterest to plan our wedding, one of the things I most commonly came across were welcome bags for out of town guests. This couldn't have been a more perfect idea for our wedding, since about half of our guests were traveling from Pittsburgh. What's more, they have all been welcoming hosts to me whenever I'd visit my now-husband in the steel city, so I wanted to return the favor with a little something special in their hotel rooms.

How to Make Wedding Welcome Bags

White satin bows dressed up the brown paper bags, which were easy to personalize with a custom rubber stamp that we can use for years to come. I found the white gift tags and metallic baker's twine on Amazon Prime, and used them to help the hotel deliver each bag to the right room.

We filled the welcome bags with miniature Cokes, snacks, tissues (for wedding sniffles of course) and for those with kids - Yoo-hoo chocolate milk! As a nod to the iconic, pyramid-shaped basketball arena turned Bass Pro in Memphis, we filled silver pyramid boxes with butter mints.

Our Memphis Wedding City Guide

Most importantly, my sister created a "Maid of Honor's Guide to Memphis" to help our guests find their way to the best spots in the city, like The Arcade, Huey's, Central BBQ, Muddy's Bake Shop (including the bride and groom's favorite cupcake flavors), the Memphis Zoo, A. Schwab, Memphis Botanic Garden, and many more. After all, a custom city guide is a must for any wedding welcome bag.

I hope my welcome bags gave you some ideas for your own wedding! I'd definitely recommend them. They were as fun to put together as they were for our guests to enjoy!
