Memphis 4th of July Fun
Our little Memphis neighborhood has a 4th of July parade that's been going on for more than 60 years! That means this time of year, everyone's house is decked out with patriotic flair, ours included. For our front door, in addition to our full-size flag, I found this cute United States map cut-out at Target and handlettered "Sweet Land of Liberty" on it.
As my own patriotic flair, I chose a denim on denim look with a chambrary button down and jean shorts, plus a red beaded necklace and Target round sunglasses. I'm linking up this look with J Petite, Walking in Memphis in High Heels, The Fashion Canvas, Visions of Vogue, and Style in a Small Town. My pup Tracy Rene sported a red, checked bandana from Lucy & Co.
After the parade, I headed to the kitchen to try my hand at a red, white & blue layered vanilla cake (using gel dye) with star cut-out cake toppers. I recently invested in some 6-inch cake pans and love that I can make a mini cake for any occasion for my husband and me to enjoy :)
